Affordable Housing

The State has a plan to build 22,500 affordable housing units by 2026 and I will make sure that Hawai‘i County is consistent with that initiative. Working as a division head, I’ve seen the challenges and opportunities our government has in building affordable housing.

As Mayor I will help break down the barriers of government, streamline the building processes, and make sure the laws that are being passed make sense for Hawai‘i County. My skills as an attorney allow me to understand how the law should be interpreted, and will help us move forward in creating a standard that will be fair to all.
